Everybody demands a photograph.

In the Centres that it is easy to work with foreigners. They are open, law-obedient and impeccably fulfill all instructions and are not so demanding towards the surrogate mother. The Ukrainians behave in different ways. The majority doubt, that the surrogate mother will fulfilll her Agreement obligations, worry that they will run out of money and won't have money for the second attempt But as to the photograph - everyone demands a photo.

- "Looks of a surrogate mother in no way influence the appearance of a child, The baby will take after his/her genetic parents only. But for the couple it is important that they feel sympathy to the woman. Americans and Europeans prefer tall slim natural blonds both on the donor program and surrogate maternity program. Ukrainians like women similar to themselves in appearance.

All the rest follows its usual scenario: a prepared embryo is transferred to the "mother", she gets at once 10% of the reward amount, a monthly allowance for food, and the remaining sum will be paid after the child's birth.

Mainly genetic parents do not control the woman bearing the child, relying on her honesty and respectability. Sometimes a surrogate mother is offered to live with them so as to have a possibility not only to watch the state of her health but also "to take part" in pregnancy.

-"We vouch for our "mummies". - They are very responsible, and what is main they love being pregnant. That is why they agree to bear children for infertile couples.

I am bearing an alien child for my children to have no need in anything.

A 24-year old Maria in her sixth month of pregnancy is bearing a girl who she will never call her daughter. It was not difficult for her to dare for such a step. In the past her friend became a surrogate mother and after the delivery she got a decent financial reward. Encouraged by her friend's example the young woman applied to the Surrogate Maternity Centre, passed medical examination and psychological testing. Actually in a couple of months a childless couple selected her as a biological mother for their future child.

- I am bearing an alien baby not only for money, - says Maria. - I want to help people who have been dreaming of brining up their own son or daughter. Also I am doing this for the sake of my own children so that they can have all they want. So I regard the Surrogate Maternity Program as my temporary work. Perhaps in a couple of years I will agree to give birth to one more alien child. My husband supports me in this respect. The more so we are not planning to have more of our own children.

Not very long ago a couple from Odessa arrived at the Centre. They both were almost 40, each having their own children. Several years ago they adopted a child from an orphan-asylum, but later decided to have their own baby. However the woman could not get pregnant. So they made a decision to take advantage of artificial fertilization.

In order to have guaranty from the first attempt, three fertilized eggs were transferred to both the wife and the surrogate mother. Doctors, being very surprised in such decision of the couple, asked the husband:- «And what if all six babies will be delivered?
